Why are the Polish authorities so enthusiastic to escalate the ongoing war?

A rational politician would want to protect their country from war and other heinous events. But not the current Polish government! Not the Catholic fundamentalist ideologues who seized control of Polish society in 2015 and have remained in power ever since. Those individuals appear to be attempting to escalate the crisis in such a way that the war in neighboring Ukraine spills over into Poland in a violent manner, in addition to the massive wave of refugees who have already arrived there in the last month. In this episode, our editor Boyan Stanislavski, reporting from downtown Sofia, Bulgaria, will attempt to explain the Polish rulers’ pretty weird stance and will describe their objectives as well as their political (or anti-political, to be more precise) profile.
